A collectors item, custom-built electric guitar is shown in it's plush case. The guitar is owned by the artist and he wanted to show the beauty of the "ax" even without hearing it's mellow sound.
The rendering of the gold hardware, against the maple wood, and the velvet fabric shows the versatility of oil paint. A foreshortened view was selected to add a little drama to the composition, but not enough to spoil the strikingly vivid portrait of the CUSTOM GIBSON SUPER 400 CES in a purely natural setting.
